Creating a distinct brand identity showcasing Preston Hedges as the trust of choice.
Preston Hedges Trust is a multi-academy trust of primary schools in the Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire area. Within it are five primary schools, dedicated to high standards, creative teaching, and ongoing improvement for their pupils.
Preston Hedges Trust
Branding, Design for Print
The Preston Hedges Trust approached Zinc looking to refresh their brand. They felt that their current branding needed modernising, and didn’t celebrate the core values that the trust held; Fun, Creativity, Achievement. They needed a brand that represented these tenets, and represented the board, staff and students when used both in print and online.
- Reflect the core values of the Trust
- Represent the board, staff and the students
- Ensure versatility across both print and digital platforms
- Supply stationary and powerpoint template designs
The new visual identity needed to strike a fine balance between the trust’s fun, creativity & achievement ethos whilst also having a strong corporate presence for key stakeholder engagement. The trust needed an identity that could work cohesively across a variety of communication materials as well as working with each of the school’s brands under its umbrella.
The bigger the challenge, the bigger the opportunity for growth
After extensive research and exploration sessions, the team and Zinc put together five initial concepts. Each concept included a mixture of colours, typography, motifs and straplines for the team at Preston Hedges to review. After initial feedback, we refined the concepts further until the team was 100% satisfied with their final concept.
- A modern & sophisticated logo
- A bold colour palette
- Diverse choice of typography
- A powerful brand
New Branding Suite
We provided the team with a full set of high resolution logos, including vector, png and jpg files suitable for both print and digital purposes. We also included the chosen brand colours and fonts outlining how they should be used across the brand.
We also created a suite of stationary including, letterheads, compliment slips and social media skins to ensure the branding was being used consistently across all communication channels.
We designed a variety of powerpoint template slides that could be used across the organisation, from teachers through to board members.
The logo was launched in March 2022 and received an overwhelmingly positive response from teachers and parents alike who felt there was now a clear distinction between the trust and the schools. Zinc gave Preston Hedges the tools to push their brand and vision forward to boost their brand presence and reputation with the community.
