A new e-commerce site for Cesca

Cesca are a stationery brand that offer a range of colourful home, office and travel accessories. They have a long history in manufacturing locally in Northampton, and decided to swap their focus from the B2B markets into B2C. Their products are all made in the UK, and created from vegan materials. Their relaunch was planned to reframe the site into a more B2C focused place that highlighted the ethos behind the brand and set them apart. Their previous site was built using Magento, but the client didn’t feel that they got on well with the platform, so requested a change. We recommended WooCommerce, which we felt fit the client well.

Happy to recommend Zinc Digital who have done an amazing job of building our new website. Crucially the scheme ran on time and we were kept informed at every stage. We couldn't be more pleased with the end result, and the orders are already starting to roll in. Thanks Zinc for making the whole process painless. We are excited at the opportunities to continue to develop the features of the web site and our digital marketing mix.

Sue Langley - Cesca

When they came to Zinc, Cesca was looking for a fresh start. Although their new site wasn’t old, they didn’t feel that it suited their target market. They were looking for fresh, fun, and colourful, but they didn’t want to lose the appeal of their previous B2B markets either. It’s a fine line to tread, keeping things professional yet fun.

Our designers wanted to declutter the site and move to a design that highlighted the most important thing: the product. We decided to keep things clean with a neutral background to ensure that the colours of the products really popped, then widened the site width to make sure that the imagery was front and centre.

Once the designers had finished their work, our developers set to work building the site from the ground up. Due to the move from Magento, the client worked with our developers to upload all of the product imagery and details ahead of launch to prevent any drop in service. By using the WooCommerce platform, the client is now able to go in and add new products easily, as well as using the bespoke offers and vouchers that our developers added to the site.

Working with Cesca was a great, colourful project to work on. It allowed our creative team to work with a fun project and bring in a range of colours, and the builders to support the client as they put together an e-commerce catalogue from the ground up. We were delighted when Cesca decided to stay with Zinc for marketing services, signing up for a Success Plan to help jumpstart the new site.
